POST:9 "Description of my workplace" 02/02/2011
In my workplace there are many different tattoo artists work, there are some magazines of tattooing. the work place is small. the type of work that my workplace does is tattooing. my workplace employs anyone who has been tattooing and is certified. i have no idea if chris has a college degree or not to be honest. my workplace is located in Oakland on Foothill. and i guess it looks like a tattoo place? i don't know how to explain it. there is art painted outside its bloody and gory has zombie people stabbing other people, it is very cool actually. and yea Add Comment POST:8 "looking at other peoples blogs" 02/02/2011
I feel like everyone is learning different things, some more than others. but when it comes to tattoos i feel that i am learning more than people who aren't doing an internship in tattooing. in general i feel like i am learning about tattooing and different bacteria than others. the blogs i read were Aleysha, Lesly, Marilee, Eden and ruth. and so far i think Lesly has the best blog because she has alot of detail in her and it seems very honest. i mean all them are good TRUST ME IM NOT PICKING FAVORITES I LOVE YOU ALL!!!! but yea. it kinda seems like many people are blogging but im not very good at it to be teaching anyone honestly. I LOVE MY WLE! I AM NOOOTTT GETTING BORED AT ALL! i feel like i am learning more and more everyday i love my WLE and i am really thinking about getting a job there instead of just an internship. no i basically did everything the same, clean draw and watch tattoos. but i wish i could do a tattoo on a honey due melon so that i can get a feel on what the tattoo gun feel like and how much different it is than writing with a pencil. POST 7: "how my WLE project is going" 02/02/2011
this week i basically made an outline in what i am going to put on the business card that i am making for the shop. for this WLE project i am going to make a business card for the shop to make it more known and to be able to show the types of tattoos that they do. in the next 3weeks i plan to get help from teacher in making the cars. i also plan to ask chris if i am able to get some of his tattoos and put it on the card and add some of my spunk to it. for my hours i was behind, but i did things to make them up. suck as practicing script, drawing and working on my WLE project. so far i have 73 hours for the hours i missed i asked for 8 hours, and he gave me things to do to earn those hours. BLOG 6 "mentor interview" 02/02/2011
In the interview with my mentor, i learned that he has been doing tattoos for a few years now. i also learned how he like to do things around the shop. and how he puts in his own ideas into different tattoos. as well as what he had to do before he was able to do tattoos and before he worked in a shop. the things he did were reading about tattooing and different diseases. also how he had to do basic things suck as cleaning around the shop and cleaning the tools, just to get familiar with how things are ran in a tattooing environment. Also in the interview i learned how diseases can be caught and how he learned about those things. he also explained to be the different test he had to take in order to be a certified tattooist, such as the blood test. and i asked him questions about peoples skin and if they effect the tattoo in anyway, and he explained to me how he learned that and how those things work. lastly i asked him when he started doing tattoos and he said around my age, and that he has been doing it ever since. POST 5: Friday Dec. 17th, Hours and Project 01/12/2011
i think i cleaned up, and drew a bit and saw at least one tattoo get done. and i just accomplished being able to draw using tracing paper, learning the steps in how to prepare the tattoo. my mentor tattooed and taught me how to set up the tracing paper before you scan it to place it on the skin. i think i am semi behind i think i have about 35 hours... and i think that is because i missed one day. ans i plan to make up that day soon probably sometime during the week day the leadership skills that i am using are critical thinking, communicate effectively and persuasivley and creative expression. i am using critical thinking in learning about germs and things and thinking and learning how to think on my feet if something goes wrong, and learning things about the different bacteria out there, and what can get people sick. communicate effectively is used when you are talking to a customer, you have to ask them what they are looking for come to consences on things and make sure that they are satisfied. and with creative expression you have to know how to put your own flare into the art. every leadership skill can be developed at impact. i have learned all the leadership skills i listed. my role as a student is harder than an intern at where i work because at school i feel there is a limitation in ways i can express myself and in the tattoo industry, i can This is for wednesday December 8th 01/12/2011
my work place serves everyone. and people who benefit are people who want tattoos, or who are interested in the tattoo business. the strength of my workplace would have to be the way they create certain art work, for example they show a great deal in creative expression. another thing they do well in is critical thinking because they do care about the safety of the coworkers and people n the environment. my workplace has no weaknesses that i can think of therefore there is nothing that i have to state. 3rd day 12/03/2010
well today i didn't go to my real WLE because the shop was closed, so instead i went to work with my dad's girlfriend at her dad's car wash. the day was pretty slow... there wasn't alot to do, but wash a few cars and sit around. it was a pretty good day calm and not hectic. i worked at the carwash during the summer for like a few days and it was the same today as it was last time i was working there except it wasn't as hectic today as during the summer. good day it was p but pretty fun but cold.
